Totemは気まぐれな鏡。

近年モノ作りが成熟し、高精度の機能が安定して手に入るようになった一方で、エラーが少なくなったその存在は、優秀すぎるが故に以前よりも意識の中から遠ざかった存在になったように思う。

Totemは明るい側からは鏡に見えるが、暗い側からは向こうが見えるという単純な構造の鏡です。しかしそれはあたかもきまぐれになったかのように日常の空間の中であなたを映し出します。それは空間と物と人との関りに気づきを与え、新たな瞬間に誘い込む媒介となります。

綿花由来のアセテートプラスチックでできた土台は、光が差し込んだ時にだけ、その特徴的な模様を露にします。

“Totem” is a moody mirror .

While manufacturing has matured in recent years, and high-precision functions have become available in a stable manner, its existence, which has become less error-prone, seems to have become more distant from our consciousness than before because it is too excellent.

Totem is a mirror with a simple structure: from the light side it appears to be a mirror, but from the dark side you can see the other side. But it reflects you in the everyday space as if it had become a moody mirror. It is a medium that makes you aware of the relationship between space, objects, and people, and lures you into a new moment.

The base, made of acetate plastic derived from cotton, reveals its characteristic pattern only when light shines through.
